Description
After the success of O.D.Math’s brilliant ‘Deliverance’ EP, Brussels-based label Electronical Reeds welcomes Souldust & Deeleegenz, who come up trumps here thanks to the sounds of the ‘When I Knew’ EP’. Amongst those in the know, the label has long been a consistent purveyor of house and tech-house beats – and this EP goes some way to reinforcing that viewpoint.
Getting us underway we have the title track itself. A really magical slice of carefully executed house music, it starts off warm and fuzzy before the banging bass kicks give it an extra dose of atmosphere. The drums are pronounced and epic in stature, allowing the vocal to bring an extra layer of gloss to the table. On the flip side, we have El Mundo’s deep remix, which harks back to vintage days of yore in Chicago. A real thoroughbred remix, it’s a fine addition to an altogether engaging release.
